CityTransitData is a digital platform initiated by UITP to highlight sustainable mobility initiatives in major cities around the world. It puts forward the innovations of the public transport sector and serves as a reference space for professionals seeking inspiration and insight.

Challenges

Design an immersive experience that allows users to explore and compare mobility data across cities, whether on desktop or mobile. Build an intuitive admin interface to easily manage a wide variety of content. Ensure the platform is accessible to a global audience, SEO-optimized, and performs smoothly even on data-rich pages.

Solutions

We created an interactive 3D globe as the main navigation system, offering a seamless and engaging user experience. Each city’s data is presented in a dynamic “bento” layout, categorized by theme and supported by interactive blocks that allow for direct comparisons. The custom-built admin panel allows editors to manage all site content and easily add new cities or transportation modes, offering maximum flexibility and scalability.

Additional details

The platform also includes a blog to highlight the latest developments in sustainable mobility, along with a resource center giving free access to a wide range of downloadable materials. Both areas are fully manageable via the admin interface.
